Technology and Sound

Sound

Pastor Shirley Wilkins

The scripture says that we should make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Since the days of the early church, the quality of that sound has become almost as important as its joyfulness. In fact, it seems that a lack of quality will actually diminish its joyfulness. To that end, and to insure the perfection of our worship gifts, a group of dedicated servants, partner with the musicians and singers to bring the advances of audio and video technology to worship. These technological advances and the servants who operate them are a vital part of the worship ministry. Their effort, their expertise and their success greatly enhance the “sound” of what we do, and in doing so, increase the perfection of the gift for the Glory of God.

"While Abel brought several choice lambs from the BEST of his flock. The Lord accepted Able and his offering..."

- Genesis 4:4

Technology

The Technology ministry at The House of Prayer is just that, a ministry and not a department. It is a ministry of service that should enhance all that we do here at the church. The vision of the Technology Ministry is to communicate God’s love, gospel, and truth to others in purposeful, effective, and creative ways. We do this through modern technological devices in the hopes of facilitating and enhancing everything we do here in church. Our desire is to serve with a spirit of excellence, humility, and sensitivity. If you have any questions or desire to become involved in this area of ministry, please contact Pastor Jonathan Stells at the church office, (804) 796-2828.

“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘See, I have chosen Bezalel, son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge…”

- Exodus 31:1-3a

Scripture

Jesus said, "You shall love (agape) the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment." The second is like it, "You shall love (agape) your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.

- Matthew 22:36-40
